Oh, Pinterest. I blame you for my sleepless nights. Having an ultra-convenient iPhone app makes ignoring my bodies need for sleep way to easy. So, last night at about 2:00 am, I stumbled across this pictorial for simple, smoky eye makeup, and decided that I needed to make this my Monday face. With a special twist of course.

THE EYES HAVE IT
Honestly, this is pretty easy. The link for the above caption goes right to her blog, and translated into English, you find that you need three things to complete this look. A black eyeshadow, an angled liner brush, and a fluffy domed blending brush. I used UD Blackout (from the Naked 2 Palette), Eco Tools Angled Liner Brush and the MAC 217. Then I followed her instructions, worked pretty well.

Overall, the thing I would change about this look is, I would NOT use UD Blackout. It wasn't as nice to blend out as I would have hoped. The black in the Wet n'Wild I Heart Matte Palette, is softer and probably would have suited the task of being intense, yet easy to blend. The waterline is MAC Nightmoth. I really love using Nightmoth in this way. (If you have sensitive eyes, you may not want to). This was my spin, in the tutorial Torsgarden used a black.
|Kinda subtle, kinda smoky. Perfect for the case of the Mondays.|
- NARS ProPrime Smudgeproof Eyeshadow
- UD Foxy, Blackout and Booty Call
- MAC Nightmoth Lipliner
- Benefit They're Real Mascara
- Eyeko of London Skinny Brush Mascara
|I should have probably worn a lipstick.|
The face is pretty basic. I have on foundation, concealer, bronzer and brow pencil. Again, whats not to love about a look that doesn't need an INSANE amount of products. I would have probably used lipbalm or gloss to flesh out the lips and kept the color the same.
