Urban Decay Loaded

I bought this to curb my raging, irrational lemming for the Urban Decay Smoked Palette. I rationalized that I only needed loaded because I had the other shades, either from UD themselves, or dupes that I love from NARS, Wet N Wild and MAC.  So, I was good and I was sensible. And I just purchased Loaded, because I really didn't have any shade like it, and I was drooling over it in the Smoked Palette

What I deeply adore about Loaded, is that it is such a beautiful, rich forest green shade.  It has a blackened base, but the green very much dominates.  Even with blending, the shade doesn't pull black, it still keeps that green hue, which is a huge pet peeve of mine (most companies start with black and add color and it really should be the reverse for smoky colorful shades like these to be effective).  If you're going to blacken a shadow, add more of the original shade and less of the black so you keep the integrity of the color.  Urban Decay has done this so successfully.  See swatches below!

The shadow is very finely milled, smooth and easy to pack on a ton of color, and just as easy to blend away and create a really unique smokey eye.  Kind of like a smokey eye 2.0 - a way to stand out in a world of black and brown eye looks.  This is $18 from Urban Decay - available at Sephora, Macys and Urban Decays online store.
