Birchbox - September

You'll have to forgive me for not having original photographs for this months box.  I started to use products before I realized that I hadn't photographed it - my bad!  Overall, I was not impressed with this months box.  I get this impression from other bloggers/ vloggers as well, so I'm not going to worry about censoring my opinion.  Not that I censor it anyway.  Also, I wasn't really feeling that there was a cohesive theme, and after several months of stellar boxes I was expecting to be let down eventually.

Youngblood Mineral Primer

The bonus of me using the samples before documenting them, is that instead of a reactionary opinion I can now offer an informed opinion on these products.  The sample of Youngblood Mineral Primer is quite generous, and one pump is literally enough for the whole face.  The product has a bit of silicone in it,  with that weird sort of smoothly-dry consistency.  But not a whole ton of it.  I mainly use this in my T-zone and then blend the excess out towards the edges of my face.  I will be doing a full review on this, so stay tuned!

Nexxus Pro-Mend Shampoo/ Conditioner/ Leave - In Treatment Sachets

Pros - this shampoo smells awesome.  Cons - it's not very moisturizing, nor does it treat my split-ends especially.  I think the sample size is nice, and good for a few uses.  But the product itself, I remain unimpressed with.

Benefit Foamingly Clean Facial Wash and Refined Finish Facial Polish

Benefit has always been very hit and miss for me.  This product is really no different.  It's a decent facial cleanser - foams, doesn't overly burn if you get it in your eye, doesn't strip the skin.  Same thing with the exfoliator.  It's a decent gritty scrub.  If you use the cleanser and scrub together, moisturizer just sinks into your skin and it feels like buttah.  Great, fun pick me up samples.  But I don't think I'd buy the full size.

Color Club Nail Varnish in Status Update *Birchbox Exclusive*

This is a really thick polish.  Like opaque in one coat kind of thick. And the color I received is not the shade in the stock photograph.  It was this dark steel-grey blue creme color.  It's not ugly and it's not edgy enough to be pretty.  Maybe a non-black alternative to really dark nail polish?  I'm not sure, I'm not overly enamored of the formulation.  Stay tuned for a swatch!

Lifestyle Extra - Mighty Leaf Tea

Hm.  Tea?  I drink tea.  Ok.  I'll give it to you Birchbox, I have plans to drink my samples.

SHIPPING

Shipping has gotten much, much, much better. This month's box took about four days to reach me.  Which I consider fast.  So, plus one for you Birchbox.
