Day 4/5/6: All in one neat little post!

Slacker!

Day 4: Do I like wearing foundation? If so, what are your favorites?

- Short answer, no.  But I wear it everyday.  Slowly I am trying to find a new favorite, and actually have grand plans to test out MACs Matchmaster foundation.  I prefer sheer to light coverage, as any higher tends to make my face look wider because it completely drops out the contours and shadowing of my bone structure.  Yeah, I over analyze foundation coverages so sue me.  In the past I have vastly enjoyed MAC Face & Body and MUFE HD Foundation.  I have been using the Body Shops Extra Virgin Minerals but it's beginning to clog my pores, so I've discontinued its use. I also dearly, dearly love Bobbi Brown's Skin Foundation and but Warm Sand is my winter shade.

Day 5: Favorite Lipstick, Lipgloss and Liner

These are toughies!  Most days I go sans lipcolor.  If forced to choose, I'd select the following.
MAC Up the Amp Lipstick

VS Very Voluptuous Lip Plumper Extreme in Clear

I don't use lipliner.  I'm not a fan.  I think I own maybe one?  I like the VS Lip Plumper because its shiny, a little goes a LONG way, and I do notice it subtly filling out the vertical lines in my lips.  It also is universal and makes even the driest unfriendliest lipstick usable.

Day 6: Do you like falsies?

- Yes.  I do. I like the idea of them.  However, I cannot wear them out in daytime, or even night time without feeling like people are staring at them.  Even using little baby ones.  I dunno.  I'm weird like that.  However, if you're interested in my latest foray into falsies... check out this post.

I think I'm caught up to speed!  Huzzah!

Day 3: Favorite Brand

Oh god.  This is a tough one.  I don't have a favorite, and the brands I do rank amongst my Inner Sanctum of makeup all have the same sort of things that I like about them.  They have diverse product/color ranges, high performing foundations, lack of intentionally gimmicky packaging in their perm line, a median price point, and generally, don't leave me disappointed.  Oh! And generally tend to have insanely editorial promotional pictures for their collection launches.  Things like that generally sway me.  So huge surprise my top four are as follows: MAC, NARS, Illamasqua and MUFE.  Drugstore High Performers: Physicians Formula, Prestige, NYX and Maybelline.

Falsified

I tried out Ardell 116 lashes.  They look pretty Bitchin'.  I regularly fail at putting lashes on, and this was one of my more successful attempts.  For the use of slanted tweezers really helped in the placement, as did waiting until the  glue was supertacky to stick them down.  Of note, I am wearing The Body Shop Extra Virgin Minerals Liquid Foundation in the shade 202 or Neutral Vanilla (really nice moisturizing foundation) and Illamasqua Facade Lipgloss.  Eyeshadows are PF Eye Brightener in Taupaz and UD Darkhorse and Creep from the Naked Palette.

I really like these.  They were easy to use and had a nice full band of wispy lashes.  I feel that these are good for slightly more dramatic but still natural looking lashes.  Perfect for a night out when you want a little more oomph.

Day 2: How Did I Learn to Put on Makeup?

I think it was Youtube, by a freak accident, or not so freakish accent.  I believe I saw a Lauren Luke video featured on the front page when I was looking for a music vid for Paramore.  So, I watched that and thought it was ok.  Then I stumbled upon Sarah Victor and watched all of her videos in one sitting.  I was inspired and learning on Youtube worked for me because I could mimic what I was seeing on my face to varying degrees of success.

Day 1: When Did I Start Wearing Makeup?

Casually?  I was 12.  I had a Wet nWild Purple Eyeshadow Quad and a WnW Frosty Pink Lipstick.  This was back when WnW was in the HUGE white packaging with metallic detailing, and I believe I topped it all off with Covergirl's Professional Mascara in the maroon packaging.  Yeah.  I remember, that stuff.

When I turned fourteen I saved up $180 worth of babysitting money to go to a Clinique counter and have a makeover.  I remember they told me to wear Superbalanced Foundation in Porcelain Beige, and I had Air Kiss Lipgloss in Teddy Kiss.  I think the lady tried to sell me a lipliner but my mom said no.  But I got the whole shebang otherwise.  Skincare, foundation, powder, blush, eyeshadow duo, eyeliner, mascara and lipgloss.  This was the natural look.

After that it was pretty much drugstore makeup, until I springboarded in makeup at the tenderage of 21 and never looked back.  Now its High End all the way, baby!
